Day To Day – 10 Days Tanzania & Zanzibar Family Holiday
Day 1: Arusha
Start your Tanzania and Zanzibar Family Safari in Arusha – Tanzania’s safari gateway, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru with sweeping views of Kilimanjaro on clear days. A lively city surrounded by coffee estates and crater lakes, it offers a gentle introduction to the region’s landscapes, culture and rhythm of life.
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a Sambu Africa Safaris Representative and be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge, an intimate lodge located on the outskirts of Arusha and gateway to your Tanzania safari. Check in to your Plantation Room and enjoy a scenic stay on the verdant foothills of Mount Meru. For coffee enthusiasts, we recommend exploring the working coffee plantation on a guided tour to gain insights into coffee production.

Located a short distance from the vibrant Arusha Town, hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest working coffee plantations, lies Arusha Coffee Lodge. This intimate lodge features 30 Plantation Cottages, each boasting breathtaking views of Mount Meru.
Day 2-3: Ngorongoro Crater Â
After breakfast on the foothills of Mount Meru, your safari journey begins. Your driver will meet you and transfer you to the wildlife haven, Ngorongoro Crater. Enroute, you can enjoy a game drive through Lake Manyara National Park – home to Tanzania’s tree climbing lions and enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the flamingo adorned shores of Lake Manyara’s soda –ash Lake. Your journey continues as you make your way through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Manor at Ngorongoro.
Located within the Shangari-La estate, this intimate farm-style lodge offers guests an exclusive stay with just 18 luxurious cottages dispersed throughout the grounds. A highlight of your stay will be a safari experience in the world – famous Ngorongoro Crater followed by a picnic luncheon on the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater floor is home to a plethora of wildlife including resident lion, leopard and cheetah as well as wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, rhino and hyenas.

Located within the Shangri – La Coffee Estate, The Manor at Ngorongoro offers guests an exclusive stay with only 18 farm cottages dispersed throughout the grounds. The cottages feature a private courtyard, deck and both indoor and outdoor fireplaces – the perfect spot for an overnight stay after an exhilarating day on safari.
Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park
Your safari journey continues as you journey to Serengeti National Park. After a hearty breakfast overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater floor, you will meet your driver and transfer you to Serengeti National Park where you will stay at the ultra – luxurious Serengeti Pioneer Camp, an environmentally sensitive tented camp located within the Moru Kopjes. It is here that the desires of any safari enthusiasts are realized and guests can enjoy direct access to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration and Africa’s legendary Big 5- lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. During your stay, you can explore this wildlife sanctuary on expertly led safari game drives as well as a bucket list worthy hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti.
Accommodation – Serengeti Pioneer Camp
Located in the heart of the Serengeti, within the Moru Kopjes area, Serengeti Pioneer Camp offers guests superb access to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration and Big 5. This ultra-luxury camp consists of only 12 luxury en-suite tents, including a spacious family tent, harking back to the old-world safari glamour of the 1930s.
Day 6-9: Zanzibar Beach Holiday
Today marks your final day on Tanzania safari. After breakfast, your driver will accompany you to the Seronera Airstrip for your scheduled flight to the tropical island of Zanzibar. On landing in Zanzibar, you will be picked up by our driver-guide and transferred to Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa. Located on Kendwa Beach in the far north – east of the island, Gold Zanzibar offer luxurious beachfront accommodation with two on-site restaurants, Healing Earth Spa and an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the beach. For the next four days, you can soak up the very best of Zanzibar Island living and enjoy family time on the safe swimming beach, or head to the island’s lush spice plantations and historical Stone Town.

Located on the shores of Kendwa, Gold Zanzibar is a family – friendly resort featuring seventy two garden and ocean view rooms and villas. The resort has 2 on-site restaurants and bars, a Healing spa and wellness centre.
Day 10: Departure
Toda marks the final day of your Tanzania and Zanzibar Family Holiday. After breakfast at the resort’s Kilimanjaro Restaurant, you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport for your onward journey home.
