Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

Day 1| Transfer to Kibale National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative. After a short briefing about the safari you will embark on a journey to Kibale Forest National Park – the Primate Capital of Africa, home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys and olive baboons among others.
The journey takes you through the beautiful countryside of Uganda endowed with the Albertine Escarpments. Have a lunch stopover in Masindi and continue to the park arriving in late afternoon. Check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at leisure preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2| Chimpanzee tracking and a visit to Bigodi wetland
Wake up early for breakfast and proceed to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking led by UWA Ranger, who will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the chimpanzees.
Enter into the forest searching for chimpanzees on a trek that takes approximately 3 to 4 hours or more with one hour of being in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other. You are free to take as many photos and videos as possible. Afterwards, trek back to the starting point, meet your driver-guide and return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the day you will head to Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk, here you will see several primates such as black and white colobus monkeys and several bird species.

Day 3| Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, engage in a game drive as you head to your lodge for lunch. In the Afternoon you will return for another game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, be on a lookout for lions, cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, leopards and several colorful bird species.
As the sunsets, return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4| Morning Game Drive, Kazinga Boat Cruise – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early for a game drive giving you an opportunity to see early risers, return to your lodge for breakfast. Head out and head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise on which you will see herds of elephants and buffaloes along the banks of the channel as well as several water birds.
After this amazing experience, you will exit the park with a game drive in the Ishasha Sector as you head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5| Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver-guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking conducted by a UWA Ranger Guide. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forest searching for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Spend one hour in their presence as you watch them play, feed and groom. Retrace back to the starting point and return to your lodge for an afternoon of rest. In the evening, you will head to the Batwa Community for a cultural experience. Here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the elders among others.

Day 6 | Depart back to Kampala
After a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart for Kampala. Along the journey you will enjoy enroute lunch in Mbarara and Equator for photos. You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight, bringing your safari to an end.
